Vein Finder in Indian Children with Difficult IV Access: 2.64× Higher First-Attempt Success
A nonrandomized controlled trial in India evaluated a vein finder device on 509 children aged 3–36 months with difficult intravenous access (DIVA score ≥4). First-attempt success was significantly higher in the device group, and the median number of attempts dropped from 2 to 1. Children in the device group were 2.64 times more likely to be cannulated on the first attempt.

Vein Finder in Oncology: A Clinical Trial Measuring Comfort and Trust in Lung Cancer Patients
A randomized controlled trial at Ataturk University in Turkey is evaluating a near-infrared vein finder device on 160 lung cancer chemotherapy patients. Unlike most vein finder studies, it measures patient comfort, procedural pain, and nurse-patient trust as primary outcomes. Results are expected in 2026.

Vein Finder in Uganda: Single-Attempt Cannulation for Children in Resource-Limited Settings
A vein finder device tested on 214 patients across four hospitals in Uganda reduced pediatric cannulation to a single attempt, cut medical waste to under 5%, and shortened procedure time to under 60 seconds. With a price point of $150 per unit, it is designed as a daily frontline tool rather than a specialized device.

Vein Finder in Preterm Infants: Infrared Device Cuts Cannulation Time to Under 9 Seconds
A randomized controlled trial in a Korean NICU evaluated a vein finder device on 90 preterm infants. The infrared device reduced median time to successful cannulation to 8.7 seconds, significantly improved first-attempt success, extended catheter dwell time, and reduced procedure-related pain compared with standard methods.

Transillumination Vein Finder Reduces Blood Draw Failure Rate in Children from 12.5% to 2.2%
A feasibility study at a Dutch pediatric university hospital tested a transillumination vein finder device on 45 children under 6. The failure rate for blood draws dropped from 12.5% to 2.2%, and the device successfully visualized veins even in dark-colored skin. Operators reported a benefit in 26 of 45 cases.

New Infrared Vein Finder Technology Increases IV Cannulation Site Visibility in Obese and Dark-Skinned Patients
A study of 384 patients (768 observations) compared conventional unassisted eyesight with a new infrared vein finding device, VueTek's Veinsite™, for identifying intravenous cannulation sites. Conventional visualization identified an average of 5.8 veins, but was less effective in obese (4.5), African-American (4.6), and Asian (5.1) subjects. The infrared device identified an average of 9.1 possible cannulation sites overall. In obese subjects, visible veins increased from 4.5 to 8.2, and in dark-skinned subjects from 5.4 to 9.1. The study concludes that African-American or Asian ethnicity and obesity are associated with decreased vein visibility, but that infrared vein finding technology significantly improves vein visibility across all subgroups.

The Hidden Cost of Difficult IV Access: Why Every Hospital Needs a Vein Finder
Difficult IV access rarely appears as a line item in any budget—yet its cost is buried in wasted supplies, nursing inefficiency, unnecessary PICC placements, and infection remediation. With hundreds of millions of peripheral IV catheters placed worldwide each year and first-attempt success among nurses ranging from just 44% to 77%, every missed stick triggers a costly chain reaction. This article distills where those costs come from, shows how to estimate your own facility's annual burden using data you already track, and makes the case for why a vein finder is no longer optional—it is a financial and clinical necessity.

How Does a Near-Infrared Vein Finder Work? A Distributor's Guide to the DRK-V500 & DRK-V500PRO
This article explains the working principle of near-infrared vein finders from a distributor's perspective, using the DRK-V500 and DRK-V500PRO as working examples. It breaks down the internal structure and key components shown in the product diagram, and outlines why this category is a strong addition to any medical device portfolio — clear clinical demand, portable design, Type-C charging, real-time projection of vein patterns, plus OEM/ODM support and stable supply. Target applications include primary care, emergency medicine, pediatrics, phlebotomy, and health screening.

How to Choose a Vein Finder in 2026: NIR Technology & Procurement Guide
A procurement-focused 2026 guide for clinic buyers, phlebotomists, nursing directors, and distributors. It explains how near-infrared (NIR) vein imaging works in plain terms, identifies the specs that actually influence first-stick success (display type, color/depth, battery, weight, certification, dark-skin performance). The piece is built around the theme: Better Vein Visibility | Higher Efficiency | Safer Puncture.
