In November 2024, the Department of Pediatrics at the People's Hospital of Fukang City, Xinjiang, introduced a venous vascular imaging device. Designed to address the challenges associated with obese children-specifically their thick subcutaneous fat and concealed veins-this device can rapidly generate a "vascular map," eliminating the need for nurses to repeatedly palpate the skin to locate a vein. Beibei, a 4-year-old obese patient, became one of the first beneficiaries, completing the entire IV infusion process completely pain-free. (Source: Fukang Municipal People's Government)
