In November 2024, the Department of Pediatrics at Fukang City People's Hospital in Xinjiang introduced a vein finder (vein imaging device). Addressing the challenge of thick subcutaneous fat and concealed veins often encountered in obese children, the device utilizes near-infrared light to project a real-time "vascular map." Consequently, an obese four-year-old patient underwent a successful venipuncture on the very first attempt-a completely painless experience. Radiation-free and easy to operate, this device has boosted the Department of Pediatrics' first-attempt venipuncture success rate to over 95%. -Fukang City People's Government
